Report cards and CA

Report cards and continuous assessment, done as the term goes

Teachers record class exercises, homework and tests when they happen. Continuous assessment adds up by itself with your school's own weighting, so when the exam marks are in, the terminal report is ready to check and publish.

The Assessment page on Report cards: terminal results and published report cards for a class.

From the first exercise to the printed card

  • Record class work weeklyExercises, homework and class tests go in as they are marked, by subject and class. Each one feeds continuous assessment.
  • CA adds up by itselfEach piece counts as marks earned over the maximum, scaled by the weight your school gives it. No end-of-term spreadsheet.
  • Your school's policyThe school sets its CA and exam weighting, for example 30% and 70%, and its grade bands, such as the GES 1 to 9 bands, with a remark for each band.
  • Preview, then publishThe head previews a class's terminal results, publishes them, and prints every card for the class, a level or the whole school, one per page.
  • Parents read it on their phonePublished report cards appear in the parent's account. Nothing unpublished is ever shown to families.

Marks you can trust at the PTA meeting

A missing mark stays missing: it is never quietly counted as zero. Publishing locks the scores behind a report, so a later change to the policy or to a mark does not rewrite a card a parent has already seen. A correction is a new revision with a name and a reason, and the original is kept.

Teachers work only on the classes they are assigned to. The head sees every class.

See the term, not just the end of it

The Performance page follows each class and subject week by week, flags students who need help early and keeps support plans beside the marks, so the report card is not the first time anyone notices a problem.

Common questions

Can we use the GES 1 to 9 grading bands?

Yes. Enter the bands and their remarks once as your school's policy and every report card is graded on them. A school with a different scale enters its own.

Is the CA and exam split fixed at 30/70?

No. Your school chooses the weighting. The two weights must add up to 100, and you can change the policy for a new term without changing reports already published.

Can we print report cards?

Yes. Print every published report card for a class, a level or the whole school for the term, one card per page.

What if a mark was entered wrongly after publishing?

The head makes a correction with a reason. It becomes a new revision of the report, and the original stays on record.
